About Windmill Computing
Expert provider of turnkey ID card systems
Windmill Computing is based in Cranleigh near Guildford in Surrey (United Kingdom) and provides turnkey ID card systems to businesses, clubs and other organisations. If an "out of the box" system doesn't fit, we put our many years experience in the business into designing a bespoke solution. We also sell plastic card printers on their own along with all their associated consumables.
We design web sites for our clients but specialise in search engine optimisation of existing sites. Nowadays, perhaps our biggest line of business is RF IDeas, Inc.'s line of proximity card readers and writers, and other associated products. We have acted as a European distributor for RF IDeas since 2004.
Windmill Computing Limited was incorporated on the 6 March 1996 by Paul Miller, the Managing Director, to use as a service company for IT contracting. In 2000 the Inland Revenue introduced a controversial piece of legislation (known now as 'IR35') that made IT contracting less attractive. So Paul decided to expand Windmill into a traditional business based around plastic cards - an industry that he has worked in since 1991.
